Rudolph Pfeiffer, 75, of Narrowsburg, NY passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at his daughter’s home with his family by his side.

The son of the late Rudolph Pfeiffer Sr. and Anna Sulyok Matzelle, he was born August 9, 1942 in Oberradling, Hungary.

Rudolph was retired from NYC Transit Authority. He was a member of Holy Family RC Church, Bronx, NY and attended St. Francis Xavier RC Church, Narrowsburg, NY. He was a proud member of the NRA and was a member of the Mohawk Hunting and Fishing Club. Rudy loved spending time with his family on holidays and special occasions. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved wildlife and hunting, which can be seen through his collection of photographs. A family statement reads: “Rudolph was a loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather. He was deeply loved and cherished by his family and will be greatly missed. Memories of him will always be in our hearts.”

Survivors include his wife Francine; mother Anna Matzelle and her husband Alfred; six children, Dena M. Smith and her husband Matthew of Cochecton, NY, Richard Pfeiffer and his wife Lisa of Narrowsburg, NY, Christine Kenny and her husband Kevin of Hampton Bays, NY, Frank Onofrietti and his wife Donna of Bronx, NY, Michael Onofrietti of Liberty, NY, and Joanmarie Onofrietti of Bronx, NY; grandchildren Amanda, Kevin, Samantha, Albert, Ava and Adian; sister Annemarie Sobetz of New Paltz, NY; brother-in-law Frank Giambattista; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rudolph is predeceased by his brother William Pfeiffer.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6,  from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow visitation.
