MONTICELLO, NY — A fire broke out in a building on Route 17B in Monticello before noon on January 24, quickly engulfing the building. According to accounts on social media, the building, located behind the Jade Lounge, housed the Kinnie Trucking Company.
Some 20 fire companies were reportedly called up, with some remaining on standby. The situation was complicated by the fact that diesel fuel was present on the property. Traffic was rerouted around the location of the fire on Route 17B for several hours as firefighters battled the blaze.
