HARRIS, NY — Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has opened a new pulmonary function testing lab at its hospital in Harris. The lab enables CRMC’s team of respiratory therapists and pulmonologists/intensivists to carry out the most advanced testing available. The tests are non-invasive and show how well the lungs are working. Pulmonary function testing measures lung volume, capacity, rates of flow and gas exchange within the lungs. This information helps a health-care provider assist in the diagnosis and treatment of certain lung disorders. Physicians will need to provide a prescription or schedule pulmonary function testing directly for their patients.
