BOYDS MILLS, PA — The Highlights Foundation will host a poetry retreat at the Highlights Barn for published authors, featuring Gail Carson Levine, January 24 to 29.
The four-day gathering will include seven guided workshops, as well as time to produce. Each workshop is a mixture of discussion, lecture and prompts. The workshop is intended for published writers, and not limited to poets. Participants will read “Alive Together,” by Lisa Mueller and “Human Hours” by Catherine Barnett. Participants will also get a copy of Levine’s “Transient.” Levine’s poems have appeared in The Louisville Review, the Sugar House Review, The Lullwater Review as well as several anthologies. She completed her MFA degree in poetry at NYU, studying with Sharon Olds, Yusef Komunyakaa, Catherine Barnett, Anne Carson and others.
