HONESDALE, PA — Award-winning illustrator, cartoonist and The New York Times bestselling author Bob Eckstein will present an author talk and book signing Wednesday, October 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. at The Cooperage. 

Bob will share a bit of his own story, present his New Yorker cartoons and—as the world’s only snowman expert—perform an entertaining show about the history of snowmen. There will be refreshments and beverages available and reservations are not required. A free will donation of $10 is suggested. 

Eckstein spent seven years traveling the world researching and attempting to answer the age-old question: Who made the first snowman? His newest book, “The Illustrated History of the Snowman,” is an exploration that travels back in time to shed light on the snowman’s enigmatic past—from the present day, in which the snowman reigns as the King of Kitsch, to the Dark Ages, with the creation of the very first snowman. He’s learned that the jolly snowman—ostensibly as pure as the driven snow—also harbors a dark past full of political intrigue, sex and violence. 

All proceeds from the event, sponsored by the Friends of the Wayne County Public Library, will benefit the Wayne County Public Library.
