SHOHOLA, PA — The Artists’ Market Community Center will host the a celebration of black history on Saturday, February 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. featuring artist Hassie Brodie.
Brodie’s artwork reflects the history of her own struggles and triumphs. She will speak about her journey as an artist and as a woman of color. Other local artists celebrating Black History Month at this event include Malinda Ware, Shanita Artson, Teddy Williams and Carolyn Holmes Hood. The day will also include a historical exhibit tracing the history of black artists in America with Haitian folk music by Carmelle Marsh and refreshments. The center can be found at 114 Richardson Ave.
