MONTICELLO, NY — The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library’s summer reading program offers a variety of activities for kids, tweens and teens this summer. Sign-ups are in progress and activities will start Monday, July 2.
The 2018 summer reading theme is “Libraries Rock.” From a Tinker Tots exploration program, to Robotics Club for kids and Read Aloud Round-Up, to Ssips & Paint, there will be great events for all ages. Special performers will visit on July 3, 11 and 19. These special events will require tickets. Free tickets will be available up to two weeks prior to each performance, and are given out on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call the library or stop by and visit us.
There is an exciting lineup of programs for tweens and teens, too. The summer program will begin with a video game tournament on July 5. There will be a creative writing workshop where teens and tweens can hone their writing craft, Teen Test Kitchen to experiment with food every Monday, and even an Anime Read & Watch club. All summer reading participants will have the opportunity to win prizes ranging from a pair of tickets to New York Comic Con to a Kindle Fire tablet.
Registration is required for some programs. For more information stop in at the library, 845/794-4660, ext. 8, or visit ebcpl.org.
