PECKVILLE, PA — Be a part of the first annual NEPA Green Fair & 5k for Clean Air, to promote environmental protection, public health and sustainable living throughout the region. Both will be held on Saturday, May 5 at the Blakely Recreation Complex.

The fair is a free, family-friendly event that will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature live music, local food, raffle baskets, exhibitors, eco-friendly vendors, workshops, art and more. Participants can buy native and edible plants from Bear Creek Organics, enjoy free yoga from Nearme Yoga and free massages from Brandt Chiropractic and Wellness Center. Kid-friendly activities planned include rock painting by Scranton Rocks, leaf rubbings, a community art project, an up-close look at stream critters, and hands-on educational activities from local non-profit and governmental groups. You are encouraged to bring your used sneakers to recycle and any used clothing and books to swap or donate.

The 5k Run/Walk for Clean Air begins at 9 a.m. and will take participants along the scenic Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. If interested in participating, either as an individual or part of a team, visit racemenu.com/nep. For more information, visit nepagreenfair.org or facebook.com/nepagreenfair.
