HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — This year NACL Theatre, 110 Highland Lake Rd., celebrates 20 years of creativity, community collaboration, and innovative performance. The season will commence with “A Goddessey” on Saturday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m., presented by the Obie and Bessie award-winning feminist acrobatic dance company LAVA. “A Goddessey” is the company’s feminist survival story, which journeys through landscapes emotional and geologic. It is conceived and directed by Sarah East Johnson.
Other highlights of the year will be performances of the immersive outdoor walking play “Courage,” joined this year by actress Debra Winger in the role of B. Brecht, at Apple Pond Farm and on Governors Island in New York City in September. NACL Streets, a series of lavish, entertaining and sometimes political street-theatre performances by the NACL Street Theatre Corps, will tour to local parades, festivals and events. There will be four new Deep Space works from New York City and the Slipper Room will be back with its burlesque magic.
Tickets for “A Goddessey” cost $20; $10 for people under 30. CSArts season passes cost $150 per individual and $300 per family. Visit www.NACL.org to book online for all tickets and season pass reservations.
