LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Art Society (CAS) will present “iTraits of (H.I.M.) Haile Sleassie I,” a multi-media exhibition by Rohan Patrick (www.rohanpatrickstudio.blogspot.com) that combines video, digital audio production and digital imagery, from March 4 through March 26. The exhibition will be at the Laundry King, 65 Main St. CAS will host a free opening reception on Saturday, March 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Patrick’s work is about combining the new and the old, merging technology with decades of old photos. The subject of his most recent exhibition is Haile Selassie I, aka Lij Tafari Makonnen, Ethiopia’s regent from 1916 to 1930 and emperor from 1930 to 1974. He was a member of the Solomonic Dynasty, whose members claim patrilineal descent from King Solomon of Israel and the Queen of Sheba. The Rastafari movement revered Haile Selassie as the returned messiah of the Bible. Rohan Patrick explores his subject through video, audio and in his digital imagery on paper, through the use of line and color.
