PARKSVILLE, NY — The legendary Arrowhead Ranch & Retreat is reopening, and will hold its very first event for the community, a Country Jamboree, on Saturday, May 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. Its press release says, “We’ll have an opportunity to show off the 70-acre compound and what it is capable of. This free, family-friendly event will be an introduction for what’s to come, and relive the days when so many people came together.”

This event will feature live music from local bands, a swap meet and a chili cook-off. It costs $25 to compete in the chili cook-off. The fee includes a table, burner with fuel and utensils. There will be three categories of competitors: children, adults and restaurants. Amateur participants in the cook-off will compete for a cash prize. Everyone visiting the event will get the opportunity to vote.

Arrowhead Ranch & Retreat is being restored by a team of music lovers along with a talented team of local specialists. Many of the founders’ lives and hearts were touched years ago by the Arrowhead while attending events there. When construction of the new Arrowhead Ranch and Retreat is complete, the facilities will consist of a hotel, condos, a pub, indoor event center, restaurant, spa, outdoor stage, horse stables and recording studio.
