Easter’s around the corner

Posted

Warmer days, longer evenings and the return of outdoor activities have us looking forward to gathering with family and friends for the holiday. Local organizations, schools and businesses are preparing for seasonal events, community celebrations, and opportunities for neighbors to come together. From Easter egg hunts to springtime performances and school activities, the week ahead offers plenty of ways to celebrate the season!

Here are some events happening in our community and beyond:

Families are invited to celebrate spring at the annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Easter Bunny and the Cochecton Men’s Club. The event will take place on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. sharp at the Cochecton Men’s Sports Complex. Children and families are encouraged to come out and enjoy the fun as they search for colorful eggs and celebrate the holiday together. The organizers look forward to welcoming the community for an afternoon of seasonal fun and tradition. Be sure to arrive on time so no one misses the start of the hunt. The Cochecton Men’s Club hopes to see many local families there as everyone gathers to celebrate Easter and enjoy time together outdoors.

The American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Tuesday, March 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Sullivan West Lake Huntington Campus. Community members are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and donate blood to help patients in need. Each donation can make a life-saving difference for individuals facing surgeries, accidents, cancer treatments and other medical emergencies. Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome as time allows.

The Delaware Youth Center will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28 beginning at noon. Families are invited to join the fun for an afternoon filled with egg hunting, photos with the Easter Bunny, playground activities, and delicious hot dogs and concession stand snacks. The event is free to attend, and donations are appreciated.
