The Hustings

At Cordaro’s, faith and Donald J. Trump

Posted

HONESDALE, PA — Perched on a rise on Texas Palmyra Highway, Cordaro’s Restaurant is a 70-year-old institution. From the menus to the decor, there are testaments to the Cordaro family’s faith—and also a belief in respecting all faiths.

Rosina Cordaro works in the kitchen and the front of house, as her family has for generations.

She has always been absolutely public at the business in her support of the Republican party and Donald J. Trump.

The towering sign for the restaurant, which advertises specials and the fact that it is still open, includes banners honoring Corderos who have served in the military with distinction.

The future of this family-owned restaurant is in many ways as uncertain as the future of some of Wayne County’s farms.

This week, we are visiting with Rosina at Cordaro’s, a gathering place for all sorts of people of all ages and all faiths, including a group actively registering voters for the election.
