Washington is broken. I think we can agree on that. I am not sure it can be fixed but if nothing changes, it will not be.
I am a lifelong Democrat and I believe my party, though imperfect, best reflects my core values of treating people with respect and dignity. I also believe we are responsible for our own actions, to look at what I do, not just what I say.
We have a clear choice this November, starting with our Congressional representation. Rep. Rob Bresnahan ran on ending insider trading in Washington. However, he has taken full advantage of insider information and profited by buying and selling stocks tied to legislation he was voting on. Reports indicate he has made up to 600 trades worth more than $8 million in his first 18 months, the most of any freshman.
Look at what I do, not what I say.
Most troubling are the stock trades involving health care and defense, after he promised not to vote for any bill that hurt his constituents. He voted for the Big, Beautiful Bill that guts Medicaid after the November midterms, and for the war with Iran. Just two bills that definitely hurt his constituents.
Look at what I do, not what I say.
If Democrats win control of Congress, they have promised to end the war with Iran and begin repairing the damage done by the Big, Beautiful Bill.
So, the decision on whether things change belongs to you. First, make your plan to vote on or before November 3 and second, vote for Paige Cognetti, Democrat for Congress.
Paige ran for Mayor of Scranton as an Independent, challenging the Democratic machine’s corruption. Paige has rooted out corruption, balanced the city budget, invested in public safety and fought for her city’s residents and businesses against rising costs.
Look at what I do, not what I say.
Please vote for change and vote for Paige. Thank you.
