Tax–aide program needs volunteers

MILFORD, PA — Tax filing season may be months away, but the Pike/Wayne AARP Foundation Tax-Aide District is already seeking volunteers who want to serve their community.

Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation services with a focus on serving older adults living with low to moderate income and helps them secure much-needed tax refunds. AARP membership is not required.

Volunteers are trained through a combination of self-study and classroom sessions. The classroom sessions will be held in January 2026. The amount of training required depends on the position.

During tax filing season, February through April, volunteers assist taxpayers with tax preparation, as well as greeting taxpayers and assisting them in organizing their tax documents. Volunteers can work anywhere from one to three days per week.

If you would like more information on this rewarding volunteer opportunity, contact coordinator Debra Croston at debra.croston@gmail.com. If you are interested in volunteering, complete the volunteer application at www.aarpfoundation.org/taxaidevolunteer.
