Fall is on its way, and with the orange and red of the turning leaves comes a slowing down of life. The frenetic social calendar of the summer takes a step back, and life finds the regular rhythm of the school year once again.
Even still, there's time to enjoy the world of the Upper Delaware River! This issue includes both a look back and a look forward, stories and pictures chronicling the summer behind and roadmaps to the autumn ahead.
We'll start this issue's forward-looking treck in Hawley, where we'll take you through a selection of the shops and restaurants that await day-trippers to the borough. We'll look then at this year's leafpeeping forecast, examining what's ahead for those looking to fall for the colors of this autumn's season.
Next, we'll share some images from the summer behind us. The River Reporter's staff has been busy chronicling the summer's happenings photographically; we'll present a few of our best shots, for your viewing pleasure. Eva Bednar captured images from the Lenape Nation's every-four-years treaty re-signing, and those images will be included in this issue.
We'll end with Sandra Shichtman's look into Liberty Heights, a spot of potential interest for anyone with an autumn birthday (or the desire to pretend like they've got an autumn birthday as an excuse for a good time!).
It's a big world out there; get some rest, but also have some fun!
