Sullivan Legacy endorsing Sheriff Mike Schiff for reelection in Sullivan County

Sullivan’s Legacy is proud to endorse Sheriff Mike Schiff for reelection in 2025. Sheriff Schiff’s quiet discipline, his principled leadership and unwavering service to the people of Sullivan County reflect the values we were founded to defend. He is not just the most experienced candidate in the race, he is the only one whose record proves a commitment to honor, integrity and selfless service.

During Sheriff Mike Schiff’s tenure, Sullivan County has seen one of the most significant reductions in crime in decades. Through his strategic leadership and sound policing policies, the county’s overall crime rate has been nearly cut in half. Violent crimes, robberies and property crimes are all at record lows, as reflected in data collected and publicly available from New York State and the FBI.

Mike Schiff was the leader who took on the opioid crisis head-on, with a structured and effective three-pronged approach: protecting vulnerable populations while aggressively removing criminal offenders from our streets. His voice was instrumental in securing Sullivan County’s designation as a high-intensity drug trafficking corridor, unlocking critical federal resources to fight the epidemic.

Sheriff Schiff delivered on his promise to hire those displaced by the Woodbourne prison closure. He has worked tirelessly to hire additional correctional officers and deputies while working across the aisle with the county legislature to ensure more competitive pay and compensation for his deputies.

These results are real and speak for themselves. Sheriff Schiff has never needed a spotlight to lead. His leadership is never reactive and is rooted in a lifelong commitment to protecting this county without seeking applause.

In contrast, Mr. Tim Dymond launched his political career in January by accusing the sheriff’s office of corruption and rumors of an FBI investigation—claims that collapsed under scrutiny led by Sullivan’s Legacy, as we made good on our commitment to our community to vet candidates who seek public trust.

Since then, we have seen an empty campaign with no identifiable platform, no policy roadmap and no vision for execution. It has now been 111 days since the launch of his public career, and we have still not identified a single concrete pillar of the Dymond campaign. He has given us nothing of substance to evaluate, and that alone disqualifies his campaign from our support.

As a result, Sullivan’s Legacy wholeheartedly supports the Republican and Conservative Party’s overwhelming endorsement of Sheriff Mike Schiff for reelection. As an organization committed to our values of honor, integrity and selfless service, we refuse to support or gamble on candidates with no plan, only the promise of “change.” Sheriff Schiff has been the stabilizing voice within our party and a reliable public figure in our county. He’s the rock others look to when leadership is needed and he has the record to prove it. That is what leadership looks like.

We urge every Republican and Conservative voter in Sullivan County to join us in supporting Mike Schiff on Primary Day, June 24. As voters, we have a civic obligation to be stewards of our elected offices, to ensure that only the most qualified, capable and proven individuals are entrusted with the power and authority that directly impacts our communities. In moments like these, our responsibility is to choose steady, proven leadership, not elevate aspiration.
