Custodian arrested for corruption of minors

Lehigh County man planned to meet 13-year-old in Waymart

HONESDALE - Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced today the arrest of 24-year-old Jordan Yoder from Macungie, Lehigh County, PA. Yoder faces charges including one count of Corruption of Minors (third-degree felony), one count of Contact/Communication with a Minor (second-degree felony), and one count of Criminal Use of a Communication Facility (third-degree felony).

The investigation began in October 2024 after Wayne County District Attorney’s Office Detectives received a Child Welfare Report to Law Enforcement.

During their investigation, it was discovered that Yoder, a custodian at Upper Perkiomen School District in Pennsburg, Montgomery County, PA, had engaged in inappropriate conversations with a 13-year-old girl. Furthermore, Yoder had arranged to meet the minor in Waymart, Wayne County, PA. This prompted the female to report the incident to a mandated reporter.

Yoder was arrested and appeared before Magisterial District Judge Bonnie Carney for a preliminary arraignment, where bail was set at $25,000.00. He was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility. Yoder’s next court appearance has been continued.

The filing of criminal charges is not evidence of guilt but simply a description of the charge made by the Commonwealth against a defendant. A charged Defendant is presumed innocent until a jury returns a unanimous finding that the Commonwealth has proven the defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt or until the defendant enters a guilty plea to the charges.
