LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — On Sunday, October 18 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a reception and artists’ talk will be held at the Arts Nest.

It’s part of “The Fibers That Connect Us,” an exhibition on view until November 13.

The artists participating include Buff McAllister, Katherina Litchman, Joanna Yip, Pascale Jutard and Charles Hadley Blanchard.

Eileen Bernstein is the curator.

Fiber art, by definition, consists of fiber or fabric. Fiber or textiles are synonymous and reflect cultural and ancient traditions such as weaving dating back some 27,000 years, Bernstein writes.

“Come explore the rich and vibrant world of fiber arts. The artists included in this exhibition reflect a wide range of fiber arts, from weaving to quilting and collage. A powerful representation of fiber arts can be viewed in its various forms and interpretations by the five artists.”

The gallery is located at 6692 Rte. 52.
