‘YES YES YES’

HURLEYVILLE, NY — Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) and Brooklyn’s House of Yes have announced their summer collaboration, one of the first events since the pandemic closed the nightclub down in March 2020. The two LGBTQIA+ friendly organizations will bring a one-day-only festival celebrating love and self-expression.

The all-day carnival, “YES YES YES Hurleyville Pride,” on Saturday, July 24 will include live music, interactive art, circus performances and a parade, as well as games and activities for children and unique entertainment for all people of all ages. House of Yes first began as an underground performance space in Crown Heights Brooklyn and led to the eventual nightclub experience it became known for.

The festivities will include a performance by Sullivan County native Joshua Oates, known onstage as Pixel. Oates grew up in Monticello, NY, where they were introduced to visual and performing arts through the Monticello School District. An interest in the arts led them to New York City where they were discovered by House of Yes over five years ago. Pixel has performed across the country, as well as overseas, and is now excited to bring the act to their hometown.

The event will take place outdoors from 2 to 7 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is appreciated. All are welcome and those interested may register at www.bit.ly/3xvts5J.
