I have always held the opinion that after sitting down with the River Reporter, and perusing through the pages for 20 minutes, you will feel a bit more connected to the local community.
As you read through the columns, organizational news, governmental coverage, outdoor pages and other themed offerings, readers know a whole lot more about what's going on in the river valley. With this community knowledge, your own sense of belonging increases and we all have the opportunity to feel better about how connected our community actually is.
Even if you don't read carefully, you are treated to a broad swath of local news and happenings. All of which is to affirm what David Shuster, an American TV journalist, says.
"Local news gives you the opportunity to connect with the community where you live."
Speaking of connecting, please join us for our 50th anniversary dance on November 8, beginning at 7 p.m. We'll dance the night away, hang out with friends and neighbors, and connect around our local community news. Tickets are available at myrivertickets.com.
