I read the recent letter asking, “Why would anyone vote for Rob Bresnahan?” and felt it was important to share why so many of us believe he has represented our area well.
Rob Bresnahan has consistently stood up for working people. He voted to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime, putting more take-home pay directly into the pockets of service-industry workers and hourly employees. That kind of practical relief matters for families in our community.
He also voted to keep the government open during the recent funding standoff. While others were willing to let a shutdown put federal workers’ paychecks at risk, he supported keeping essential services running and our economy stable. He even pledged to forgo his own salary if a shutdown occurred, a clear sign that he puts constituents before politics.
Just as importantly, Rob is committed to strengthening the social programs that many local families and seniors rely on. He has been working to protect programs like Medicare and Social Security by reducing waste, fraud and abuse so that the resources go to the people who truly need them.
Rob Bresnahan’s record shows a focus on commonsense, local priorities: supporting workers, keeping the government functioning, and protecting the safety net while being responsible with taxpayer dollars. That is why many of us are proud to support him.
