HARRISBURG, PA — A group of 16 community improvement projects in Pike and Wayne counties will receive more than $1.4 million in state funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Local Share Account (LSA) Program. The grants will support initiatives ranging from park and road improvements to public safety upgrades and workforce development planning.
The funding reflects a collaborative effort by area lawmakers to secure support for community-driven projects that enhance quality of life, promote economic opportunity and address long-standing infrastructure needs.
“There is a strong partnership between state and local officials in our region and a shared commitment to improving our communities,” said Sens. Lisa Baker (R-20) and Rosemary Brown (R-40). “Whether it’s supporting emergency services, investing in recreational spaces or working to improve infrastructure, these projects directly respond to the needs expressed by the people and municipalities we represent.”
The CFA’s LSA program is funded through revenues generated by gaming in Pennsylvania, with grants awarded for projects that advance public interest and community development in eligible counties.
“These grants support vital projects for our communities without burdening the taxpayers,” said Reps. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) and Jeff Olsommer (R-Wayne/Pike). “We are pleased to work with our colleagues to secure this funding. The LSA program has been helpful for the past several years to have community priorities addressed.”
