HONESDALE, PA — April was Occupational Therapy Month, and it recognized the important and meaningful difference the vocation makes in the lives of so many people. Occupational therapy (OT) is a science-driven, evidence-based profession that enables people to perform activities of daily living or live better with injury, illness, or disability.
Wayne Memorial Hospital provides OT to adult patients of all ages in various settings; acute in-room care for patients in the hospital, those medically prescribed to its inpatient rehab center and those in its outpatient clinic at the Route 6 Plaza.
“Our team of therapists and assistants have helped an abundance of patients with diverse needs and levels of ability. That includes maintaining or rebuilding a patient’s independence and helping them function at the highest possible level,” said ancillary services chief Jim Hockenbury. “They truly improve lives.”
