HONESDALE, PA — Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announces the following cases were addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court:

WILKENS JOSE CRUZ, age 40, of Allentown, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 23 ½ months for one count of Simple Assault (M2). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, continue with ongoing mental health treatment and comply with any recommendations for treatment, complete an anger management program, relinquish all firearms and ammunition to law enforcement, and obtain employment within 30 days of parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on June 15, 2020 in Waymart Borough.

JOSEPH MATTHEW FLORA, age 28, of Honesdale, PA, was sentenced to 12 months probation for one count of Theft by Deception – False Impression (M1). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, and undergo a mental health evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment. The incident occurred between March 20, 2020 and April 30, 2020 in Damascus Township.

THOMAS JAMES GRADY, age 55, of Lake Ariel, PA, previously sentenced on October 15, 2020 for a DUI – Highest Rate (M1), was resentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 60 months. He was also ordered to pay all costs, pay a mandatory minimum fine of $1,500.00, participate in and cooperate in with the Drug and Alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his assessment, obtain a mental health evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, complete an anger management course, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, and obtain employment within 30 days of parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The Defendant was found in violation of his probation on July 23, 2021 when he was arrested on another incident.

SARA ELIZABETH HANLEY, age 35, of Honesdale, PA, was issued a Bench Warrant for failure to appear at court.

DENNIS EDWARD KING, age 57, of Carbondale, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 7 days nor more than 6 months for one count of Driving Under the Influence (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a mandatory minimum fine of $1,000.00, participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his assessment, and complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program. The incident occurred on June 28, 2020 in Lake Township.

EDWARD P. McANALLY JR, age 47, of Newfoundland, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Institution for a period of not less than 20 months nor more than 60 months for one count of Persons Not to Possess, Use, Firearms, Etc (F2) and one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay restitution in the amount of $8,301.99, and pay a fine of $500.00. The incident occurred on May 29, 2019 and July 2, 2019 in Dreher Township.

NICHOLAS DANIEL McDERMOTT, age 28, of Throop, PA, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 21 days nor more than 12 months, followed by 6 months probation for one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance (M) and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 30 days of sentencing or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on June 16, 2020 in Palmyra Township.

JOHN BRUCE STANTON III, age 34, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 9 months probation with 105 days of house arrest through the SCRAM program for one count of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (M), one count of Illegally Operate Vehicle without Ignition Interlock (M) and one count of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspended/Revoked (S). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay fine a mandatory minimum amount of $800.00, participate and cooperate with the drug and alcohol addiction treatment in accordance with his assessment, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, attend a minimum of (2) two AA/NA meetings a week, participate in counseling with the Wayne County Drug and Alcohol Recovery Specialist and comply with all recommendations, and maintain employment while on parole or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on October 31, 2020 in Paupack Township.

JONATHAN RICHARD TOBIN, age 55, of Lake Ariel, PA, was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition Program for a period of 9 months related to a DUI. He was also ordered to pay all costs, perform 20 hours of community service, complete the Alcohol Highway Safety Program, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and have his operating privileges suspended for a period of 60 days. The incident occurred on May 22, 2021 in Salem Township.

FRANK ANTHONY VENNERO, age 28, of Newfoundland, PA, was sentenced to 9 months probation for one count of Firearm Ownership – Duty of Other Persons (M2), and one count of False Report to Law Enforcement Authorities (M3). He was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, pay a fine in the amount of $100.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with any recommendations for treatment, and obtain employment within 30 days of sentencing or provide documentation from a doctor precluding him from employment. The incident occurred on June 2, 2020 in Dreher Township.

JESSICA LYNNE WEIKEL, age 33, of Samona DE, was sentenced to undergo incarceration in a State Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 16 months nor more than 60 months for one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking (F3). She was also ordered to pay the costs of prosecution, and pay restitution in the amount of $14,484.86. The incident occurred between August 1, 2020 and September 6, 2020 in Paupack Township.
