SMALLWOOD, NY — On Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to noon, a walk-and-talk will be held at the Forest Reserve at Smallwood, 48 Richard Crumley Dr. in Smallwood. It is sponsored by the Delaware Highlands Conservancy (DHC).
Join the DHC and Timothy Yeatts, a forester with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, for a chance to explore an important question: What does it mean to manage land and its forests?
Yeatts will guide participants along the reserve’s trails and waterways while answering questions from attendees and sharing insights into forest management, conservation and stewardship.
Closed-toe shoes are required; the event will be held rain or shine. Participants should anticipate walking one to two miles on maintained trails and pathways.
To register, visit www.DelawareHighlands.org/events or call Lydia Freethy, education and stewardship associate, at 570/226-3164 ext. 4.
