TOWN OF TUSTEN, NY — A proposed local law giving the option for the Tusten Town Board to raise the town's tax cap was implemented during a regularly scheduled board meeting on October 13.
The law was previously described by board members as giving the board the possibility of raising the state-issued 2% tax cap, without it actually making a decision whether to increase it or not.
“I’m on the library board; we do it every year,” board member Kevin McDonough said about the local law.
A budget workshop for the fiscal year 2027 will be held on October 26 at 10 a.m. A public hearing on the budget will be held on November 4 at 6 p.m.
The next board meeting will be November 10.
