Watching Trump’s body betray his mind is not a pretty sight. But watching his mind continue to betray this country and our world is really much uglier. He reminds me of a vampire, who as you grow weaker, claims that his nightly visits will eventually improve your health—but first you have to die.
Sorry about the morbidity, but Trump’s faux imperial reign has become so blatantly corrupt, naïve and criminal that admitting to our citizens having elected this bumbling and petty autocrat is not a topic for discussion among polite company.
His own special fiddle
Nero famously cut a hot fiddle, but when things grew dull for Trump, he fired the experts and the public employees; and especially the expert public employees. He illegally imposed a 100-year-old tariff idea that has never worked- and proved it still does not. Then when he was bored, he started a war or two, or just bombed lots of small boats, because, who knew, there may have been drugs on board. “Kill them, kill them all!” said Pete, just in case some among the generals lacked enthusiasm for war crimes.
In a moment of what he thought was genius, Trump realized he could bully the world. Ultimately, with Netanyahu’s advice Trump got confused and thought that meant he should bully the world.
Now that Trump’s ultimate “artistry of the deal” has resulted in our near unconditional surrender to the ayatollah and Iran and showed that in life, “stupid” can reduce even the greatest military force on earth to a “paper tiger,” isn’t it time we “throw the bum out?” I think Trump should be impeached and that the Republican party should help lead in the effort. But they should hurry, because the “impeachment boat” is set to sail and history will not be kind to those who might still have a chance to hop on board, but instead choose to drag their feet. That might be a last remaining option to rebuild the Republican Party, a party that I rarely agree with, but one that deserves to put traitorous Trump and his grifting minions behind them. You cannot do it if you lack the courage to try.
