The cruel funding bill

Posted

The passage of the most cruel funding bill in the history of the United States proves a major point:  Congressional representatives no longer represent their constituents. They represent their party and their own personal interests.

Rob Bresnahan ran for office on the promise that he would never vote for a bill that would hurt his constituents.  He even wrote twice to the River Reporter reiterating that promise. He lied and voted for it anyway.  It didn’t matter that the bill only had only a 27 percent approval rating and, if passed, would take away food from children, gut Medicaid and Medicare, and cut health care for thousands of people and lead to the closure of many rural hospitals, among other things.

All of these cuts were made so that the rich could receive a huge tax cut.   Rob Bresnahan doesn’t care that thousands of people in PA-8 rely on these programs.  We will not forget how he lied over and over again.  And we will not stop calling his office and letting him know how we feel until he is out. We must replace him with someone who actually votes for the needs of his constituents. Remember this in November 2026.
