I have never surfed.

I don't have lived experience that informs what I am about to say. That being said, a surfer does not go into a wave thinking that they are going to ride it all the way to its end.

They maneuver their way through.

So, while we can't stop the waves and we can learn to surf, there is no guarantee that things will unfold exactly as we want them to.

What is guaranteed is that when we are in the present moment with a good set of skills, we're in for a good ride.
