SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY— The 2025-26 school budgets for Sullivan West CSD,  Liberty CSD,  Eldred CSD, and Monticello CSD all passed in the May 20 school budget and board elections. Find the full budget and school board elections below.

Election Results

Sullivan West Central School District 

  • The  2025-2026 budget amount of $43,266,206 passed with 342  Yes votes and 96 No votes.

3 Board Candidate Seats (unopposed)

Rose Joyce-Turner 337 votes

Michael Ellmauer 356 votes

Jackie Rutledge 343 votes

Eldred Central School District

  • The 2025-2026 budget amount of $20,348,487 passed with 172  Yes votes and 49 No votes.
  •  The $49,500 levy for Sunshine Hall Free Library passed with 187 Yes votes and  33 No votes.

Board Candidate Seat (unopposed)

Bether Deyermond 177 votes

Liberty Central School District

  • The 2025-2026 budget amount of $68,508,362 passed with 658  Yes votes and 131 No votes.

Board Candidate Seats

Three board of education members were elected to three-year terms on the board:

John L. Nichols 761 votes

Timothy Hamblin 759 votes

Matthew DeWitt 762 votes.

Also on the ballot were:

Miriam Rivka Singer  28 votes

Miriam Heimlich 27 votes 

Monticello Central School District

  • The  2025-2026 budget amount of $103,522,576 passed with 371  Yes votes and 186 No votes.
  • The establishment of a $10 million capital reserve fund passed with 392 yes votes and  159 no

Board Candidate Seats 

Melinda Gwiozdowski won seat one with 310 votes against  Roberto Bravo Colon with 181 votes

Ashley Rielly won Seat 2 with 381 votes

Victoria LaRusso won seat 3 with 363 votes
