Thank you for publishing the letter to the editor from citizen Kolesar related to the permissive referendum in the Town of Highland, and thank you to Ruby Rayner-Haselkorn for the straight-shot reporting regarding the issues at play in this needlessly divisive town matter.

Unfortunately, when two sides are at war with one another, especially in local politics, journalism is the only path to the truth. Ruby should be commended and please, do not let the vitriol against the paper coming from the current town supervisor, who has his own version of facts, lead to a change in course with this much needed coverage. As I recall, when the previous administration didn’t like coverage of facts at that time, they also demonized the paper. So clearly, you are doing something right.
