WAYNE and PIKE COUNTIES, PA — Most of Wayne and Pike Counties weathered the early May storms without severe damages, though several roads were closed due to damage and Honesdale Borough declared a state of emergency following floodwater impacts to its infrastructure and commercial buildings.

"[Wayne] County-wide, we were spared pretty well—just some major incidents with some flooding, nothing major," Wayne County Emergency Management Director Steven Price told the River Reporter. He said that Honesdale was the hardest hit area of the county.

Pike County Public Safety Director Tim Knapp told the River Reporter that the county had no damage from Tuesday's storm—"We dodged a bullet," he said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) identified several roads as being closed due to damage after the storm.

Route 507 in Palmyra Township, Pike County, from Burns Hill Road to Leahs Court, was closed due to road washout. It was expected to reopen Friday, May 16.

Route 3004 in Salem Township, Wayne County, from Spudeno Road to J and J Road, was closed due to road washout. It was expected to reopen Saturday, May 31.

Route 296 in South Canaan Township, Wayne County, from Easton Turnpike to Tannery Road, was closed due to road washout. It was expected to reopen Friday, May 16.
