CALLICOON, NY — There will be a ribbon cutting and open house for Catskill Literacies, 24 Upper Main St. (lower level), on Monday, January 27 at 11 a.m.
Catskill Literacies is an educational support service that offers tutoring, reading and writing instruction, and assessments (including reading, writing, and dyslexia screening) for all ages. Workshops for children and parents will occur throughout the year. The service’s press release says, “Our in-person approach is firmly grounded in a combined framework of scientifically sound research with authentic and purposeful reading and writing practices... Our goal is to create lifelong lovers of reading and writing, which goes beyond test scores and reading levels.”
Hours are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday closed, and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
