MILFORD, PA — A Jackson, NJ man last seen swimming in the Delaware River off Milford Beach has drowned.
Jeysson Ariel Osorio-Reyes was swimming in the middle of the river at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, when he disappeared under the water’s surface. His body was recovered Saturday evening.
The search was conducted by emergency response teams from the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Upper Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River as well as from Milford, Westfall, Matamoras, Port Jervis, Bushkill. Dingmans, Sparrowbush, and Huguenot. They scoured the river above and below the surface deploying teams of divers and side scan sonar.
Osorio-Reyes was not wearing a life jacket.
“Condolences to the family and friends of this young man,” posted the Port Jervis Fire Department on Facebook. “Please be aware of the dangers of our beautiful local waterways as you enjoy your recreational summer fun. Always wear a life jacket, and never underestimate the many hidden dangers and challenges while in the water.”
