TOWN OF ROCKLAND, NY — The new district formed when voters in the Livingston Manor and Roscoe central school districts approved a merger now has an official name.
On March 18, the Board of Education approved Rockland Central School District as the new district’s name during a meeting in Roscoe.
The decision followed the gathering of input from the community and students and separate ThoughExchanges earlier in the month.
Also during the meeting, the board voted to have one voting location, which will be at the Livingston Manor school gymnasium.
The next meeting of the board will be a special meeting at 6 p.m. March 27 at Livingston Manor to nominate a community member from the Rockland Central School District to serve on the Sullivan BOCES Board.
Agendas and minutes of the BOE meetings can be found at https://simbli.
