MILFORD, PA — A few hundred protestors gathered on the Pike County Courthouse lawn for Milford’s No Kings rally, part of a nationwide network of similar rallies on March 28.
The rally, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., included speakers, live music and group chants, with many protestors holding signs with slogans decrying a wide range of Trump administration actions.
Delaware Valley Action! organized the rally, with the Delaware Township Democratic Club and the Pike County Democratic Committee co-sponsoring the event.
Taylor James, a Delaware Valley Action! board member, told the River Reporter the event was in response to the “monstrous amount of infringements on our rights and on the Constitution that we’re seeing from the federal government right now.”
In a rural area, James said, it is especially important to hold these rallies to keep people from feeling alone. Rallies like this one can remind people that “we’re all here and we’re all fighting for them.”
“We need to have our voices heard and we need to resist,” James said.
