MILFORD — Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the arrest of a man on June 5, 2025. Investigators from the District Attorney’s office charged Johnny Hernandez, age 26, with a last known address in Pike County in Greene Township with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, both felonies.
According to the affidavit of probable cause supporting the charges, Detectives at the District Attorney’s Office received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that child sexual abuse material had been sent via direct message on Instagram and on Kik. After investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Hernandez’s Airbnb. Hernandez admitted to viewing child sexual abuse material on his social media accounts.
Hernandez was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Randy Schmalzle who set bail at $75,000.00. Hernandez is scheduled for an appearance in Pike County Central Court on June 17th, 2025.
Studies have shown a link between the viewing of child sexual abuse materials and the perpetration of child sexual abuse. If any has any information regarding any sexual abuse of children, they are asked to contact Chief County Detective Molly Carson at the District Attorney’s Office at 570-296-3482 or the tip on Pike County DA Crimewatch.
