ROCKLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT — The Rockland Middle/High School Yearbook Club is preparing its first yearbook, but there is plenty of award-winning experience to lean on.
Entourage Yearbooks’ National Yearbook Competition announced that Livingston Manor’s “Manorisms” 2025 yearbook was among the top 10 in the category of Overall Design, earning the title of Honorable Mention.
Students involved in the creation and publication of the yearbook, under the leadership of advisor Mrs. Jessica Mall, were co-editors Frances Ball and Halie
Cheng, treasurer Tyler Gorr, Emily Hathaway, Bronwynn Wolcott, Mackenzie Cole and 2025 graduate Ashley Hoag.
The students were involved in all aspects of the production—printing, taking photos, writing content and designing custom layouts.
“This was truly a labor of love. As soon as the communities voted to approve the merger, we went straight to work on creating a yearbook that would celebrate LMCS and mark the 75th (and final) year of our yearbook,” Mall said.
The national contest judges school yearbooks on the dimensions of creativity, originality and journalistic relevance. Hundreds of schools, from all 50 states, using Entourage to produce their yearbooks, enter the contest at the elementary, middle school and the very competitive high school levels.
Now in its 13th year, the competition received more than 800 entries, making it the most competitive yet.
This year, the Livingston Manor club consists of 16 students, including most of the award-winning students. Lynnz Amback, Brooke Coman, Lauren Day, Marlee Cheng, Fiona Heusel, Mackenzie Lundeen, Isabella Park, Mila Park, Lily Stone, Grace Ward and Elena Wells join Frances Ball, Halie Cheng, Tyler Gorr, Emily Hathaway and Bronwynn Wolcott in creating Rockland MS/HS’s first yearbook.
They have reviewed past Manor and Roscoe yearbooks to be able to integrate aspects from both schools into the new Rockland “Foundations” yearbook and have begun putting the pieces together.
“To begin the inaugural Rockland Middle/High School yearbook, we looked at both the Roscoe ‘Records’ and Livingston Manor ‘Manorisms’ yearbooks to find commonalities and combine styles and traditions,” Mall said. “It excites me to see the work our students are putting into creating this publication, and I could not be more proud to be a part of it.”
