Livestock Auction scholarship winners

The hard work of these 16 young people paves their way forward

By the close of the 2024 Livestock Auction, the Scholarship Committee will have donated 412 scholarships totaling $571,433 since the scholarships began in 1998.

This year, the senior FFA or 4-H members will each receive $2,300. 

Benedict J. Bateman, son of Russell and Kathleen Bateman, is a member of the Waymart Horizons Club. He plans on attending either Belmont Abbey College or Ave Maria University.

A member of the Calkins Ag Club, Caleb Bryant is enlisting in the United States Air Force.  He is the son of R. Zackary and Katherine Bryant.

Ayden Connolly, a member of the Waymart Horizons Club,  plans on attending Johnson College.  His parents are Bob Barna and Cheryl Swingle. 

Adam and Devena Dutton’s daughter, Aurora Dutton, is a member of the Maple Line 4-H Club. She will be attending Penn State University. 

Emily Eccles will continue to run her own business. She is the daughter of Allen and Michelle Eccles and is a member of the Pleasant Mount Go-Getters. 

Miranda Grossman is the daughter of Edward and Amy Grossman. She is a member of the Cherry Ridge 4-H Club. She has been accepted to West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Allen and Margaret Kellogg’s daughter, Brooke Kellogg, is a member of the Pleasant Mount Go-Getters 4-H Club. She will attend Johnson College. 

Carter Kennedy, a member of the Tri-Gal 4-H Club, is the son of Paul and Heather Kennedy. He has been accepted at Penn State University.

Rozlyn Maciejewski is the daughter of Jason and Rebecca Maciejewski. A member of the Calkins Ag 4-H Club, she will attend Temple University.

Peter Modrovsky, the son of Mike and Kim Modrovsky, will attend De Sales University.  He is a member of the Tri-Gal 4-H Club.

Elyse Montgomery is the daughter of Jay and Emily Montgomery.  She is a member of the Calkins Ag 4-H Club and has been accepted at the University of Scranton.

Weston Nugent, a member of Waymart Horizons 4-H Club, plans to attend Johnson College, majoring in diesel truck technology.  His parents are Matt and Jada Nugent.

Matthew Reed, son of Harley and Barbara Reed, is a member of the Creamton 4-H Club.  He plans to attend Lackawanna College. 

Drew Rutledge is the son of Doug Rutledge and Julie Olver.  He is a member of the Bethany 4-H Club and will continue his education online.

Sarah Spinelli, the daughter of Brian and Beth Spinelli, will attend Penn State University.  She is a member of the Pleasant Mount Go-Getters.

Karleigh Weist is a member of the Explorers 4-H Club.  She is the daughter of Andy and Tammy Weist and will attend Kings College.
