NARROWSBURG, NY — Jazz artist Jonny King and his trio are coming to Krause Recital Hall to play two shows on Saturday, October 3, first at 4:30 p.m. and then at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $35 in advance and $40 at the door, and are available at www.DamascusCitizens.org.

Described by Downbeat as “one of the strongest piano voices” of his generation, pianist King has released solo albums and has worked with artists such as Joshua Redman and Christian McBride, Eddie Harris and many others.

Emerging in the early 1990s, King established himself as a significant voice in the modern jazz piano tradition. King’s musical style is described as rooted in the hard-bop tradition but infused with a contemporary edge, featuring intricate melodies, driving rhythms and expressive improvisations. He balances “intellectual complexity with an undeniable swing, creating music that is both challenging and deeply engaging.”

The Krause Recital Hall is located at 37 Main St.
