FALLSBURG, NY — On October 9, 2026 Fallsburg Police responded to a residence on Main Street in Hurleyville for a reported neighbor dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported to police that a male subject involved was in possession of a handgun. Following a police investigation, the male was identified as 34-year-old Iqwan Mandiville, and patrol officers located multiple rounds of 9mm ammunition on the ground outside of the residence and on Mr. Mandiville's person.

Fallsburg Detectives then responded to the scene and a search warrant for the residence was obtained. Upon executing the search warrant, a black 9mm hand gun was located in a garbage bag outside of the residence that a child at the location was attempting to dispose of during the initial stage of the investigation.

Iqwan Mandville was taken into police custody where he was charged with the felony of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child. Mr. Mandiville was arraigned in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Kaminski and was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail. Iqwan Mandiville is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Criminal charges are merely allegations that a defendant has committed violations of the criminal law, and as such they are not evidence of guilt. All defendants have a presumption of innocence and are entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the burden of the State of New York to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
