HAWLEY, PA — Fall is arriving in full color, and so is a local tradition—the Hawley Harvest Hoedown, happening on Saturday, October 3 (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sunday, October 4 (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Here’s a guide to making the most of this festive weekend in Hawley.

What to expect at the Hoedown

Live music all weekend at the bandstand in Bingham Park and on the mainstage on Keystone Avenue;

Farm fun in Bingham Park—piglet and goat cuddles, and Hillstead Farms’ crafts and hands‑on activities;

The Hit and Miss Engines Display;

Pumpkin throwing and the hay-bale jumping pile;

An apple-baking contest;

A western ropes show, and Cowboy Larry’s Rollin’ & Strollin’; and

Local vendors and artisans throughout downtown, along with stores like Miss Elly’s Antiques and Such—for those unique pieces—on Church Street and the Grains Bookstore and Gift Shop on Penn Avenue for books and home decor.

Crazy Otto’s Vintage is located in the Dime Bank building on the second floor, offering vintage wear. Lee’s Chocolates and Souvenirs will have treats. Food will be on offer on Keystone Street, along with coffee and quick bites from the Queen of Cups. “Don’t forget to stop in at Teeter’s to discover their home decor with local flair,” organizers said.

Food trucks, seasonal treats and downtown specials will be available, and the Wayne County Dairy Promotions’ mac-and-cheese bake-off can be found at the Hawley Hub on Saturday—attendees get to be the judge.

On Sunday, Bingham Park “transforms into a playground of fall fun for all ages,” offering face painting, pumpkin painting, airbrush body art, pumpkin throwing, inflatables and trackless train returns.

“It’s a full day of smiles and community energy,” organizers say.
