HONESDALE, PA — Sustainable Energy Education and Development Support (SEEDS) of Northeastern PA is seeking responsible college students for a paid summer internship. The students selected will learn about home energy efficiency and accompanying SEEDS’ volunteer adult supervisor/assessors on home energy assessments. Students will also be helping nonprofit facilities improve energy efficiency. The students will generate reports and gather data from homeowners who have had their homes assessed in the past.
Training will be provided. Students will be expected to learn and assist with basic administration tasks for SEEDS as well. This program received a 2016 PA Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
Student interns will be expected to arrange their own transportation to the office at 32 Commercial St. or to assessment sites in Northeast PA. The interns will be paid $15 per hour, and will be expected to work approximately 20 hours per week. SEEDS is willing to work around summer vacation schedules. Interns may also be able to perform some of their responsibilities remotely.
The 2025 program is being funded in part by the Ohio River Valley Participatory Fund through the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies and with financial assistance from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Bureau of Recreation and Conservation through a grant funded by the Environmental Stewardship Fund.
