ELLENVILLE, NY — Ellenville Regional Hospital recognized Occupational Therapy Month this past April, celebrating the vital role that occupational therapists play in helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life. The hospital’s occupational therapy department is dedicated to providing specialized care to patients with upper extremity conditions, chronic pain and post-surgical rehabilitation needs, the hospital said.
Occupational therapy focuses on restoring movement, strength and coordination while addressing pain relief and symptom management. At Ellenville Regional Hospital, a team of therapists, including a certified hand therapist (CHT), offers individualized treatment plans to assist patients recovering from injuries, surgeries and neurological conditions such as strokes and multiple sclerosis.
The hospital’s occupational therapy program is designed to help patients regain function and confidence in their daily lives. The hospital’s therapy services address a wide range of conditions, including:
Hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder injuries;
Carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and arthritis;
Post-surgical and non-surgical rehabilitation;
Sports injuries and workplace-related conditions; and
Neurological impairments such as paralysis and stroke recovery.
More information about the hospital’s occupational therapy services is available at www.erhny.org or by calling 845/210-3035.
