MONTICELLO, NY — On October 22, the George L. Cooke Elementary School took part in the statewide Big Apple Crunch. The event is held each year by the FarmOn! Foundation to promote healthy eating among students and highlight the produce of New York State.
The entire school community, wearing red in honor of the apple, gathered in the school’s outdoor learning center, and simultaneously took a bite of New York’s famous fruit.
The students enjoyed the loud sound of the crunch, and also the sweet taste of the delicious snack, a staff member said.
