Paige Cognetti spends a lot of time talking about corruption on the campaign trail. The problem is that she seems to only be against corruption when she isn’t a part of it.
Whether it’s questions surrounding the Fidelity Bank situation or reports about her undisclosed ski chalet near Elk Mountain, there appears to be a growing gap between what she says and what she does. For someone who brands herself as a champion of transparency and accountability, that’s a problem.
Voters are tired of politicians who preach one thing and practice another. If Mayor Cognetti wants to campaign as an ethics reformer, she should start by holding herself to the same standards she demands of everyone else.
