The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the Callicoon Bridge – also known as Interstate Bridge #7 – which spans the Delaware River and links Bridge Street in the Hamlet of Callicoon, Sullivan County, with State Route 1016 in Damascus Township, PA, will be closed to all traffic for approximately 48 hours starting at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, to accommodate a concrete pour.
The closure is dependent on weather and resources. A backup date of Wednesday, August 13 has been selected.
During the closure, flaggers will be at either end of the bridge to allow emergency vehicles to pass through, if necessary. Pedestrians and bicyclists will also have access to the bridge during the closure.
