NARROWSBURG, NY — The very first Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (UDUUF) walk for social justice, held on October 24, 1993, took a route from Narrowsburg to Milanville, PA. This year's walk, to be held after the UDUUF service on Sunday, October 27, will leave the Narrowsburg Union and circle the Narrowsburg Flats.
The Rev. Laurie Stuart, president of the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship [and publisher of the River Reporter] will lead a discussion of the spiritual values and the history behind the walk and the fundraising campaign known as the Bud Rue Memorial Fund for Social Justice.
Members of the community on both sides of the river are invited to register to walk at the event or donate to the social justice fund.
Poison Love (Dan and Joanne Brinkerhoff), will accompany the walkers on the route through the flats to contribute to the festive spirit of the day.
The worship service will begin on Sunday, October 27 at 10:15 a.m., and a Zoom link is available. To register or download a pledge form for the walk afterward, visit upperdelawareuu.org.
