WASHINGTON, DC — On April 23, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) announced that his district office is seeking a qualified veteran or Gold Star Family member for a paid, full-time position through the House of Representatives’ Green and Gold Congressional Aide Program. The selected individual will join the district office team in Forty Fort, PA, to assist with veterans-related casework and serve as a liaison between constituents and federal agencies.

“The Green & Gold Program is a unique opportunity to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans and Gold Star Families by bringing their firsthand experiences into the work we do for Northeastern Pennsylvania,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “This role is essential to ensuring we continue to deliver results for those who have served and for the families who have sacrificed the most. I know my team and I look forward to expanding on our efforts through this program to serve those who bravely served for us.”

The Green & Gold Congressional Aide Program was created to provide employment opportunities for veterans and Gold Star Families within Member offices of the U.S. House of Representatives. The program is limited to veterans and Gold Star Family members who meet all of the following requirements:

  • Veterans must be honorably discharged, released from active duty within the last six years, and have served at or below the pay grades of E-5, O-3, or W-2. Veterans promoted to E-6, O-4, or W-3 within six months of separation may also qualify, provided ALL other criteria are met. Veterans who retired with 20 years of service or under Temporary Early Retirement Authorization (TERA) are not eligible.
  • Gold Star Family applicants must be the spouse, parent, sibling, child, or stepchild of a service member who died in the line of duty, or who passed away due to a service-connected disability within four years of separation.
